automation
What is Action?
The task that an automation performs after a trigger fires. Examples include sending an email, creating a record, or updating a spreadsheet.
In plain English
An action is the 'then do this' half of any automation rule. After a trigger event occurs, one or more actions execute automatically — creating a contact in your CRM, sending a Slack message, generating an invoice, or updating a row in a Google Sheet. Most automation platforms let you chain multiple actions together so a single trigger can set off an entire sequence of work.
