What is Spam Score?

A rating assigned to an email based on characteristics that spam filters use to determine whether to deliver it to the inbox or the spam folder.

In plain English

Spam filters score emails based on dozens of factors: too many exclamation marks, all-caps subject lines, certain trigger words ('FREE!!!', 'ACT NOW'), broken HTML, sending from a free email address, or having a poor sender reputation. Email tools like Mailchimp and Klaviyo often display a spam score estimate before you send. Keeping your spam score low means your emails are more likely to land in the inbox and actually get read.
