ChatGPT for business
ChatGPT for business is OpenAI's team workspace for ChatGPT. OpenAI sells a self-serve Business plan for teams of 2 to 200 people, and an Enterprise plan you buy through sales. A Business seat is not API access. You still check anything it writes before a customer sees it.
What it is
OpenAI describes ChatGPT Business as a secure workspace with company context and flexible seat types. The pricing page lists ChatGPT Work on desktop, web, and mobile, plus Codex, connectors to Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, and Microsoft 365, SAML SSO, MFA, centralized billing, usage analytics, and spend controls. OpenAI says business data is not used to train models by default.
There is also a free ChatGPT, plus personal paid plans named Go, Plus, and the other individual options on that same pricing page. Those are for one person. Business and Enterprise are the plans OpenAI points companies to.
These are examples of how an owner might use the tool. They are not customer results, and they are not a promise that the product will do the job by itself.
Plans
Prices below are the US figures on OpenAI's business pricing page. OpenAI says they can change, and the checkout page is the number that matters.
Business, Standard seat
$20 per user per month if billed annually, or $25 per user per month if billed monthly. OpenAI says this seat includes ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex.
Business, Premium seat
$100 per user per month if billed annually, or $125 per user per month if billed monthly. OpenAI says Premium is 5 times the usage of Standard, with no 5-hour limit. You can mix Standard and Premium seats.
Enterprise
Custom pricing through sales. OpenAI lists an expanded context window, SCIM, enterprise key management, role-based access, data residency in ten regions, 24/7 priority support, and invoicing. Credit-based and token-based pricing are available on Enterprise agreements.
How an owner would use it
Invoicing follow-ups
Paste the real invoice facts (who, amount, due date, what you already sent) and ask for a short reminder in your voice. Do not let it invent a balance. Send the note from your accounting tool, or use the reminder sequence you already trust.
Missed-call replies
After a missed call, you still need a text that sounds like you and does not promise a time you cannot keep. Draft it in ChatGPT from the caller's name and the job, then send it yourself or from the text-back you already run.
Scheduling
Use it to rewrite a booking note, a reminder, or a no-show message. The calendar still lives in the scheduler you already use. ChatGPT does not replace that booking link.
Reporting
Export the week's numbers, then ask for a one-page read of what moved. You supply the figures. It should not guess revenue.
Hiring
Turn a messy role description into a posting and a first-day welcome note. You still decide pay, requirements, and who you interview.
SOPs
Talk through how the shop actually opens, or how an invoice goes out, and turn that into steps a new person can follow. Then store the SOP where the team already looks.
