Perplexity for business
Perplexity's official docs describe an API platform for real-time, web-wide research and Q&A. The Agent API returns web-grounded answers with citations. This page does not list seat prices or an Enterprise plan name, because those pages could not be loaded from Perplexity for a check.
What it is
The getting-started overview on docs.perplexity.ai lists four APIs: Orchestrator (one OpenAI-compatible endpoint for open-weight models Perplexity hosts), Agent (web-grounded answers with citations, or third-party models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI with web search), Search (ranked web results), and Embeddings (vectors for semantic search and RAG).
That is a developer product. It is not, by itself, a writeup of a chat seat for a front desk. An owner who wants cited research can still use the habit Perplexity documents: ask a question, read the sources, and do not ship a claim you did not open.
If Perplexity later shows you a team price at signup, use that screen. Nothing on this page is a price.

How an owner would use it
Invoicing follow-ups
Perplexity is a poor place to store who owes you. Look up a vendor's payment terms if you need a source, then write the reminder from your own invoice. The words are in the prompt library.
Missed-call replies
Do not research a customer in order to answer a missed call. Send the short text. Use research later if the job needs a part number or a code you do not know.
Scheduling
A cited answer will not book the job. Use it when a customer asks a question you want a source for, then send them your real booking link.
Reporting
Use cited search to check an outside fact (a fee, a rule, a supplier page). The week's sales still come from your sheet.
Hiring
Read a couple of sourced pages about a license or a tool the role uses, then write the posting in your own words. Do not paste an unsourced salary.
SOPs
When a step depends on a public rule, grab the citation, then write the shop's version of the step. The SOP is still yours.
